He earned his bachelor’s degree in Biology and Chemistry from Texas State University and continuously expanded his safety credentials earning recognition as a Certified Safety Consultant, Certified Hazardous Materials Manager, OSHA 511 Outreach Training Instructor, US Navy NAVSEC Safety Certification and OSHA 30 Hour Certification.
He is effective in utilizing his wide range of experience, skills and qualification to develop and deliver engaging safety training that consistently receives high ratings. John has training skills and qualifications that include: Arc Flash Electrical Safety Awareness; Electrical/Mechanical Safety Training; Fire Protection Technologies; Safety Policy Development; Accident/Root Cause Investigation; Crane & Rigging Safety, Confined Space Training; Trenching & Excavation Competent Person; Demolition Safety; Emergency Action Plan; and First Aid/AED/CPR.
John has over 20 years safety experience and expertise and has earned a reputation as a highly qualified and well-respected Health & Safety Trainer. He is exceptionally versed in all aspects of Construction and General Industry safety policies, OSHA regulations and safety compliance practices that further enhance the effectiveness of his health and safety training classes.
Prior to joining SMART, John served in the U.S. Air Force. After his military service he worked as an Environmental, Health & Safety Consultant and Construction Project Manager. He also has broad industry experience in Construction, Concrete, Manufacturing, Power Plants, Power Transmission & Distribution, Petrochemical, Pipelines, Smelters, Specialty Chemicals and Refining.
