Sean is a south Louisiana native who was born and raised in Houma. After graduating from high school, he attended college at Nicholls State University in which he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering Technology and an Associate of Science degree in Safety Management. He began his career in the oil and gas industry where he spent over a decade working on various projects for clients in construction, pipeline abandonment, plug and abandonment of gas and oil wells, and production platform removal. Sean played a major role in developing a positive culture for safety compliance within the industry. Sean’s dedication to safety has allowed him to gain experience working in petrochemical plants and refineries. Working for a contractor, he quickly moved up from a safety technician to a site safety manager. He played a very vital role where he had developed training specifically to what the client had requested to ensure the field workers were properly trained to perform the jobs as safely as possible. He served as a member of contractor safety committees while working at Shell Norco refinery.
Sean is currently serving as a Safety Service Manager for Smart Safety. As a Service Safety Manager, Sean leads a team of company personnel to strengthen the safety culture commitment, plan, coordinate, schedule, and control the safety functions at clients’ job sites. As a safety professional, Sean conducts audits, trainings, and leads meetings to promote safe work environments. Sean is a valuable asset to the Smart Safety team and truly believes that safety, teamwork, leadership, and communication are the keys to being successful.
Outside of work, Sean focuses his time on spending with his wife and two daughters. Other hobbies consist of hunting, fishing, playing golf. To Sean, the two most important things to him are faith and family.
