Ted Low is Vice President, National Operations at SMART Safety Gulf Coast and located in Atlanta, GA. Ted is a Board Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and Associate of Risk Management for Public Entities (AICPCU). He also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Health & Hygiene from the University of Houston Clear Lake.
Ted has 28 years of safety and environmental experience in a variety of industries to include general manufacturing, chemical plants, warehousing and distribution, compressed gas repackaging, public safety, public works, water and wastewater treatment, airport operations, fleet maintenance, low and high voltage electrical, and building maintenance and renovations.
Ted’s previous work experience includes safety, health, industrial hygiene, homeland security and emergency response program development and implementation. He also has extensive municipality safety and risk management experience with the State of Georgia (Atlanta) as Chief Loss Control & Safety Officer, and State of Texas (Houston) as Safety Supervisor. In Atlanta he previously oversaw the development and implementation of the Comprehensive Loss Control Program (CLCP) launched across more than 160 state entities. In Houston he had responsibility and oversight of safety programs for 23 City Departments and over 22,000 employees.
Ted has developed regulatory compliant training programs and performed numerous field inspections and accident investigations throughout his safety career.Currently, Ted organizes and leads safety business and field supervisor meetings with clients and conducts field audits, observations, and training across the Southeast Region.
