Scot Burchardt is our Louisiana Market President for SMART Safety Gulf Coast and earned his bachelor’s degree in Business & Marketing from Mississippi State University in 2000. He has been a member of the SMART safety team since 2014 and has been a leader in multiple positions before being promoted the Market President in January 2024.
Scot is a Certified Occupational Safety Specialist (COSS), Certified Occupational Safety Manager (COSM), and holds multiple other OSHA Construction Certification. He also earned OSHA 500 and 510 authorizations by the OSHA Training Institute (OTI) Education Centers for construction safety training.
He has extensive experience across a variety of industries including construction, manufacturing, chemical, power, and refining to name a few. Scot has daily activities and responsibilities that include maintaining workforce and worksite safety, developing site mitigation methods, claims management, Incident investigation, job site safety compliance and corrective actions, and health and safety training.
His leadership role has allowed our team of safety professionals to excel in providing top-level customer service to our partners in the industrial, commercial, and general industries.
When not working to support our team, Scot spends his time working closely with the United Cajun Navy where he maintains a leadership role to help support those in need during extreme weather events. Scot also is an accomplished sports fisherman of the coast of Louisiana. Other passions include classic car restoration and landscaping.
